This handsome cushion is block-printed with our emblem, an earthbound & celestial plough contained within a double border. The motif alludes to the work the artist craftsman does: engaging both body and soul, the real world and the dream world, in the act of creation.
The image - printed in Old gold linseed pigment on a beautiful and appropriately earthy brown linen (woven in Ireland) - sits on a raised patch, stitched by hand, which echoes the shape of the printed double border. The body of the cushion is in the same sober brown linen. The piece is finished with a piped edge and a vertical rear sleeve, and comes with a generous feather-filled pad.
The cushion would sit well on an old wooden desk chair, or on a favourite seat in a workshop or studio.
