* One-of-a-kind patchwork bag created from panels of 1800s and 1900s laundered agricultural grain sacks. The robust panels, which make up the bag’s face and rear, are irregularly shaped and sized to echo the mosaic character of our local landscape. Varying in tone, they are juxtaposed artfully.
* Front, rear and sides are beautified by original stencilling, all in black. A charming No. 2, abstracted names in different typefaces and a rustic plough (on the rear) adorn the bag, as well as the Bonfield emblem - a block-printed earthbound & celestial plough within a double border - plus one or two peasant mends.
* Fully lined in a delightful brown & blue striped Irish linen.

* Heavy-duty, antiqued brass zip closure - with suitably agricultural baling twine zip pull.
* Shoulder strap is a repurposed antique leather belt - which we’ve fed - dark brown, circa 1930/40. The cast bronze buckle - appropriately, a local field find - has developed a lovely verdigris patina. The strap is adjustable, and was stitched into place using waxed linen thread.
